Last week the PJCE Sextet went to the Map Room to record some of the songs we have been developing over the last concert season. With Andrew leaving town for England two days later and the rest of us in the middle of our busy summer workloads, it was a miracle that everyone's schedules lined up enough for us to do the recording. It was a fantastic session! Very light-hearted and fun, but we got some great takes and I'm really looking forward to the release of the new material. When that will be, though, I can't say yet, since there has been no talk of a release date. More info when I get it!
For the first post of my new blog, I've decided to do something simple and easy: post a bunch of pictures!!! These were all taken during rehearsals or performances for The Territory, a new nine movement suite composed by pianist Darrell Grant. Playing this music has been quite an amazing experience!
I also think it's worth mentioning that I brought my twin brother Chris to the first rehearsal, and he managed to fool half the band into thinking he was me. :) |
